The weather has taken it’s toll on getting to races in December, we had to abort a trip to Huntingdon on Sunday 10th and then again the weather put pay to Chepstow on 27th and we finally got to run ASK THE WEAHTERMAN on Saturday 6th Jan in The Welsh National. He looked a picture and initially ran well but didn’t get the trip in the ground and Nick wisely pulled him up to fight another day.
We had a merry Christmas party with the staff the Saturday before Christmas. Georgie and Sarah winning the “Best turned out” Christmas outfit wearing Elf pyjamas!
Boxing Day took us to Huntingdon where we ran SMART BOY who well and came 3rd, CLENAGH struggled in the going and L’CHAMISE finished 6th in a very hot listed mares bumper.
Jade sent four runners to Larkhill last Sunday and had 2 placed but rather like the Ashes there was no glory to be had.
DARCY WARD delivered a smashing win for us at Taunton yesterday where we ran both him and EARTH STORM who struggled in the gluey ground. DARCY made it look easy enough despite the going proving he is not ground dependant. Nick gave him a great ride and the horse travelled and jumped well, we were delighted with his performance. We hope to run him again when the ground improves, in a novice under a penalty.
