First runner under rules tomorrow at Worcester
Tomorrow will see my first runner under rules on the course, exciting times ahead. DOCTOR TIGER at Worcester 2.55, watch this space…
Over the past two weeks we have had some warm, dry weather allowing us to school on the grass and several of the jockeys namely Ian Popham, Nick Scofield and Martin McIntyre have been in to school and are very upbeat with the way the horses are progressing.
I am really pleased with the horses to date, they are well in themselves and I took four to Salisbury for a Racecourse gallop this week. This I find really brings them on and gives a better insight to their level of fitness and ability.
The horses that I intend to get out within the next few weeks are SMART BOY, KING CALVIN and L’CHAMISE.
Back in the yard we have been busy clipping the horses, smartening them up for their first runs. The lorries have all been serviced and newly sign written, our Yard sponsor CONNEXI has provided us with fabulous new jackets for the staff. So we are well set up for the road ahead….
As David Briers noted in his Western Gazette article this week, there is a lot to look forward to, I am very aware that I am one of the youngest trainers in the industry and I am sure that many eyes will be watching me over the next few months.
