November Round Up – 2nd December

 In Jack’s Blog

After such a dry and warm spell this Autumn things are certainly getting colder, with frosty mornings and rosy cheeks.

The horses are all in good form and we have run EARTH STORM at Kempton where he gave a good account of himself but probably needs further however, I was really pleased with him.

DUNN’S RIVER ran at Ludlow with Chris Barber on board in an Amateur riders hurdle.  He didn’t really try very hard and we ran him at Taunton this Thursday with blinkers which made a big difference making him concentrate.

SHORELINE ran at Southwell in the Mares bumper, she will be better with a hurdle in front of her. She didn’t quite have the speed needed for the last two furlongs.

On Monday 27th at Ludlow we ran CLENAGH CASTLE in the 3 mile Novices Handicap Chase, he didn’t enjoy the going and made a blunder at the final ditch causing him to come back to a trot so Ian pulled him up.  POSH TOTTY ran in the 3 mile Con Jockeys Hurdle ridden by Sean Houlihan.  She ran a blinder but again didn’t enjoy the going and was fairly beaten.  Sean looked after her after the last coaxing her home to be second. What with all the Royal Wedding news, Totty seems to be bridesmaid not the bride, lets hope we do not have to wait until next May for a win. I will look to run her over fences next time.

Tomorrow Jade has her first runner at Larkhill.  THREE IN ONE will run in the 3 mile Maiden with Gordon Treacy on board.

Christmas is creeping upon us and if you need a different present for a racing friend why not try our Experience day, a Morning on the gallops with breakfast here at Peckmoor.  Please see our website for available dates or call the office 01460 76555 to book a place.
